Co-chair of workshops at leading conferences such as NeurIPS (2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023) on Human-Centred AI, ICML 2020, ICCV-2023 on Deep Fake Analysis and Detection (with a Challenge on the same topic), PerCom2022, PerCom2023 and PerCom2024 on Pervasive and Resource constrained AI - PerConAI, DALI2019, ELLIS-HCML2021 and 2023.

• Member-at-large of the Board of Governors (BoG), International Neural Network Society (INNS), 2014-2023 (elected for three consecutive terms); previously - Vice President of INNS, 2017-2020 (elected for two consecutive terms)

• Member-at-large of the Board of Governors (BoG), Systems, Man and Cybernetics Committee, IEEE, elected twice (2015-2017 and 2022-2024)

• Programme co-Director of Human-Centred Machine Learning co-Director of one of the 11 funded programs of ELLIS, namely Human-Centered Machine Learning, since 2019

• Chaired the Standards Committee of the Computational Intelligent Society, IEEE (2010-2011), now - member of it; initiated and chaired the Working Group (WG) on the IEEE Standard on Explainable AI (XAI), P2976

• Founding Chair of Technical Committee on Evolving Intelligent Systems, SMC Society (SMCS) , IEEE, since 2011
